"Affirm is teaming up with Walmart's Sam's Club as the retailer's exclusive buy-now, pay-later partner, just weeks before the key holiday shopping season kicks off. Affirm will serve as Sam's Club's exclusive BNPL provider in a multi-year agreement, starting in that role on Sam's Club's website in the coming weeks and rolling out to stores in 2027. Walmart’s Sam’s Club Drops Self-Checkout, Adds New Anti-Theft Tech

"Sam's Club is now gearing up to transform its entire checkout process. After a successful test run in its Texas headquarters, the wholesale grocer will begin to eliminate both cashier-run checkouts and self-checkout kiosks. Sam's Club is going to begin using its new Scan & Go system, which prompts members to scan products using their mobile app and pay for their goods directly there."

"A soon-to-open Sam’s Club store will eliminate fixed checkout in favor of app-based shopping and payment. According to a CNBC confirmed by Walmart via email, Sam’s Club is opening a pilot store in Grapevine, Tex. (part of the Dallas metroplex) in mid-October that will be the Walmart-owned warehouse club retailer’s first full-time frictionless store."
