Debbie Bartoo

As part of Glenbrook’s education team, Debbie draws on professional and teaching experiences to help organizations be apprised of the foundations and innovations underway with payments. Through the lens of payments foundations to the next generation of advanced payments, the dynamics associated with payments knowledge is not just about the past, but the future. As payments continue to change, understanding future trends and aspirations is critical to organizations today.

These insights include bringing the past into the future so organizations have a strong foundation to adapt to change through engagement in the Payments Boot Camp® and advising on opportunities for new industry-focused curriculums and methods.

Prior to Glenbrook, Debbie was Senior Vice President at Bank of America. Her several functions included Small Business Payments and Invoicing, Innovation, and Product Management covering immersion in research activities. She has held roles in digital channels managing a data analytics group and supporting competitive intelligence including developing key points of view and other forward-thinking payments roles.

Debbie has also acted as Executive Vice President at the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), and as an innovation strategist at PSCU engaged with credit unions to develop innovative solutions including fostering thought leadership on faster payments.

Debbie has attained a Master’s degree in Organizational Dynamics focused on Product Development, a Master’s degree in Analytics/Business Intelligence, and a PhD in Leadership and Change, focusing on Innovation. Debbie also teaches from time to time at the University of Denver in their Master’s program as adjunct faculty where her core courses include strategy, data-driven decision making, innovation, competitive intelligence/marketing, and the Capstone Course. These disciplines are brought into her work every day.

Debbie has served on various industry workgroups including the U.S. Payment Council, the Federal Reserve Directory Work Group, the Federal Reserve Secure Payment Task Force, and the Executive Board of the Smart Card Alliance. She has also held board positions with the University of Denver, Daniels’ School of Business, Management Advisory Board, the PDMA Innovate Carolina Board, and the American Marketing Association board.
