Ysplit Makes Money From Split Bill Payments

Ysplit is testing a virtual card which can be used by friends and people in house shares to split bill payments. Where it differs from similar schemes is that Ysplit earns interchange fees from being the card on which the bill is paid. The Ysplit Card can be used to pay for utility or restaurant bills, or in other places that groups of people split bills and which accept mobile or online payments. Ysplit charges merchants 1.3% to 2% of the transaction, according to TechCrunch .”

These are among findings from the Diary of Consumer Payment Choice, a survey of U.S. consumers released in September of this year.”

Wells Fargo Customers Use Debit/Prepaid Cards More Than Any Other U.S. Issuer

“Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) announced today that, for the first time, its customers are now the country’s largest users of debit and prepaid cards by purchase volume, according to 2016 data issued by The Nilson Report. The new ranking, released in The Nilson Report’s April 18, 2017 issue, shows Wells Fargo customers used their debit and prepaid cards to purchase more than $306 billion in goods and services in 2016.”
