Belgian Banks Join European Payments Initiative to Expand Wero Wallet Across Europe

"Five Belgian banks - Argenta, Bank Van Breda, Beobank, Crelan and vdk bank - said on Monday that they were joining the European Payments Initiative and that they would roll out the EPI's digital wallet Wero to their customers next year. The EPI was set up by European banks in a bid to rival the dominance of U.S. companies Visa and Mastercard."

Apple Pay arrives in Brazil, partnering with Itaú Unibanco

“The bank said Apple Pay will be available during the 90-day exclusive period to Itaú’s roughly 1.2 million card holders who also own an iPhone 6 or higher. Under the terms of the partnership, Brazilian retailers such as GPA SA will offer discounts on purchases using Apple Pay.”
