Valor International

“In the wake of the growth of Pix, the Central Bank’s instant-payment system, Brazil was the fourth country that carried out the most real-time transactions last year, an advance of four positions compared to 2020. There were 8.7 billion transactions, which represented 5% of the total in the country, according to a global survey by ACI Worldwide, a payments software company. This share is expected to continue rising and reach 34% in 2026.  India tops the list, with 48.6 billion transactions, followed by China (18.5 billion) and Thailand (9.7 billion). Besides Brazil, the “top 10” also includes South Korea, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan and Mexico.”
