Mark Your Calendar: BarCampBankSF2 is April 25-26

Last year I attended the original BarCampBank San Francisco and had a fantastic time (I blogged about the experience here.) It is an unstructured, participant-organized, conference on banking/payments/financial services innovation.

BarCampBank events have been held in cities around the world and are refreshingly open and informal. If your budget is tight, your company is limiting conference attendees, and you find yourself missing the opportunity to network and spend a day or two immersed in deep conversation about the future of financial services and emerging technologies I strongly encourage you to attend.

BarCampBank SanFrancisco (BCBSF) is like a day long version of going out to lunch with a bunch of really smart people who share your passion for finance and innovation.

It’s designed to foster discussions on the future of financial services, particularly related to banking.  The program is informal and the sessions are created the morning of the event, based on what participants want to discuss.  This helps keep the agenda relevant and also allows people to more easily connect with those who have similar interests.

There will be folks attending from startups, financial services companies and the media.

This year, the venue is sponsored by the SF Fire Credit Union and rumor has it they are providing cool SFFD tee-shirts.
