I've been intrigued by the idea of a BarCamp – informal, unstructured, participant-organized conferences where people with similar interests share and learn in an open environment – since I read about them in other (mostly technology) blogs. There is an upcoming banking/finance BarCamp in San Francisco (well, actually at UC Berkeley) and I just signed up.
The aim of BarCampBank is to foster innovations and the creation of new business models in the world of banking and finance.
Of the proposed sessions I am particularly interested in a demo of Noca (merchant payments without transaction fees).
I promise to blog about the whole experience afterwards. If you are curious and want to come, too, the details are here:
- BarCampBankSF
- Registration (nominal fee of $25)
- Crowdvine discussion group, specific to BarCampBankSF
- GoogleGroup, specific to BarCampBankSF

- BarCampMoney New York City (April 12)
- BarCampBank Paris (May 24)
