Alternate Payments are Hot this Holiday Season

Major online merchants and the web presence of big retail chains are embracing Bill Me Later, the alternative payment method that enables consumers to buy online and pay later, avoiding entering their credit card data online.  Hitwise reports that the Alternative Payments Category is up 17% for the week ending December 8th over the same week last year. The growth can be attributed almost entirely to Bill Me Later, as its primary competitors in the category PayPal and Google Checkout had declines in traffic vs. this time last year.
