Sam Levitt, Glenbrook’s first Associate, focuses on the intricacies of the domestic U.S. payments landscape. As a resident of San Francisco, he is most interested in the intersection of payments and technology and on the range of emerging payment solutions. He works with merchants of various sizes and verticals to help them optimize their payment acceptance strategies.
While an intern for Visa’s internal consulting division, Sam assisted with an annual cost-study that measured the overall performance of Visa issuing banks through the use of a highly evolved benchmarking methodology.
Sam’s career has included the healthcare industry where he worked as an Associate at Triage Consulting Group, a company specializing in identifying systemic payment discrepancies in the hospital revenue cycle. Working for some of the nation’s largest health systems, he developed a keen understanding of the hospital billing process and hopes to one day take the knowledge and skills he learns at Glenbrook to inefficiencies in the healthcare industry’s back end systems.
Sam earned his bachelor’s degree at UCLA, studying Economics and Political Science. At UCLA, he became intrigued by the blockchain, more specifically with Bitcoin and its potential. After purchasing his first Bitcoin in 2014, he has developed a deeper understanding of the electronic currency while watching the price fluctuations over time.
