Shiv brings substantial international payments and financial inclusion experience to Glenbrook’s clients and our growing global payments practice.
Shiv has six years of consulting, operations, and business development experience in financial inclusion across Africa, Asia and Oceania. He has worked with leading banks and financial institutions and managed projects commissioned by AusAID, IFC, Omidyar, the Gates Foundation, UNCDF, USAID and others.
Most recently, Shiv consulted to Dalberg Global Development Advisors on a major public-private partnership on financial inclusion supported by USAID and the government of India. With UNCDF, he was based in Fiji to assist the Pacific Financial Inclusion Program to launch a bundled micro-insurance service in five Pacific island countries.
In the Philippines, Shiv conceived and launched a cross border remittance company for Opportunity International that integrates microfinance institutions and mobile technology. During his time at MicroSave, Shiv advised a large commercial bank in East Africa on mobile banking services for the unbanked. In India, he co-led a Gates Foundation funded $10 million capacity building program to promote savings among low-income households via electronic and mobile channels. Shiv began his career at Intellecap where he assisted in the creation of 10 green-field microfinance institutions in the poorest states of India.
Shiv holds a Master’s degree in International Policy Studies from Stanford University. Having lived and worked in 6 countries, he loves traveling and exploring the far corners of this wonderful planet.
